Rockport Art Festival 2018

We finished the first day of the Rockport show and it was great. The weather cooperated - hot, but not miserable. Lots of people came by and visited and some bought bells. Just thought I'd post a few shots of the booth front, inside and behind. 

                                                                                                                  

             

Rockport is healing well. Lots of work still going on. It is sad to drive by a slab that once supported a home or a business. I'm sure some will be the basis for a new building and we feel bad when we can't remember exactly what was there before. The Art Center is moving and will be located more in the "business" area of town.

We ate at three of our favorite restaurants and they have recovered well.

Paradise Cove Marina, where we would have had our boat, if our original plans had come to be, is still being repaired. Their huge dry dock building is being rebuilt. We were very lucky not to have had her here.

Ok - all for now. Let's see what today brings.

Off To the King William art show of Fiesta 2018!!

We set up tonight for the King William show. We got their earlier than usual and set up pretty quickly. Hope it is a good show and a fun time. Viva Fiesta!!

This quiet street will be packed with people tomorrow!!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

The holiday email has gone out. We are in the shop taking orders. So.... all is good. The weather has been pleasant which makes that trek from the house to the shop easy. We have been doing a few other things as well, though.

We work on the boat, HEY JUDE, every chance we get. She is still residing in Clear Lake. In fact, we spent Thanksgiving on her. This is a picture from earlier in the year when we had just loaded the roof back on her. She now has repaired railings, new pilot house windows and rear pilot house enclosures are being made. In January, the electronics that are in boxes sitting on our spare bed in the house will finally be installed. Even during all of these repairs, she has still been a great place to go and relax on.

I walked in the Boerne Christmas Parade this past weekend along with the Kendall County Animal Shelter float. I volunteer there during the week. Our first idea included walking some of the dogs in the parade, but on second thought we decided taking them on a strange road, at night, with lots of noise might not be a good idea. But, our float looked good anyway. 

                   Here I am ready to walk and hand out candy. Just waiting for it to get dark.

                I also still have my Little Free Library in front of the restaurant down the road.

 I have been struggling to keep the kid's shelf loaded with books. I think kids borrow a book and then don't want to give it back. That's ok with me, but I just wasn't keeping that shelf as full as the adult shelves. Then....

our daughter/teacher rescued a giant box of books at her school that was headed for the recycle bin.

Ta da.... 105 books in great shape and ready for use!

I always like to include pictures of our bells in different places. These pictures are from Norfolk, VA where very nice friends live who have bells in trees in their back yard which leads to their boat!

We will work had to get out your orders quickly.  Shelia, our shop dog, is ready to help. She greets the UPS driver every day and does her tricks for dog cookies and then watches him load up!!

ROCKPORT BELLS

Two of our customers have sent pictures from Rockport of some of the bells that made it through the storm.

We hear that leaves have started sprouting out on the trees that were left standing. Thank goodness.

We Are In Midland!

We are in Midland for the art show at the a museum of the Southwest. Had a good preview party last night and are now ready for two days of sales. The weather is beautiful.
